A labor-intensive initiative such as the California Rug Project, which was 22 years in the making, could not have come to fruition without the support of local artists and art centers, neighboring textile organizations, and many art lovers from around the country. We are deeply grateful to all who have made this dream a reality.

Securing the California Rug’s Future
The California Rug was completed in 2022. The final phase of the California Rug Project is to find a forever home for this masterwork. Ideally, the Rug will be gifted and housed in a civic art collection and made available for public viewing.
